Harry Williams, Sonnenscein PCA, Technical Advisor

I asked local Pensacola Master Porsche Mechanic and Sonnenschein PCA Technical Advisor, Harry Williams, to take pictures of views that a serious Porsche buyer would want to see.

He took all the photos in the Gallery.

"It is the best looking early car I have seen in a long time.  Unmolested and thats rare.  No rust perforation at all. Being in FL I just never see that.

Will shoot pics to you as soon as Cox has my cable back up."

"Dust, spiders, mildew.  All expected.  It is a huge building and a dry one but not A/C.

I can only guess as to the headliner condition and my guess is we are seeing normal aging of the adhesive causing the release and stain.

The orange colored stuff I hesitate to even call rust because it is surface only and this 911 has no rust in the doors, fenders, fender joining plate areas, lower corners of the front and rear glasses, or pans including the front suspension pan as well as the battery box."

"Restoration of this particular car should in my opinion be approached with great care and in the context of a survivor, not a “fix it till it looks new” restoration.  Just my opinion.

The buyer for this car would likely be glad to see the engine had proper care but would not likely care if we started it.  The Webers for instance will be a mess.  Restoration of them will be part of the process of bringing this car back.  The same for the engine.  The body work needed is enough to justify a complete refinish of the car so  detail work [wash it for a pretty picture] is up to you and maybe the prospective buyer.  The dust isn't hiding anything.  The interior looks to be a clean up only area as I saw no exceptions at a glance."

Here are some of his remarks:

When I expressed my horror at the dust and cobwebs:
